The Work:

The work that makes up my contribution to this show is a combination of chalk pastel drawings, paintings and photography.

My drawings are mainly inspired by landscapes I’ve seen or passed through. Some I get to know very well, like South West Oxfordshire (where I live) or the Wyle Valley (where I come from), while others are mere glimpses of more remote areas.  I am constantly excited to see the colours and shapes that occur naturally in landscape, which I then try to recreate in my work. I always work on black paper, which seems to give my drawings an added resonance.

Painting is another great love. Days can be lost applying and reapplying paint to the smallest canvas. Subjects vary from landscapes to abstracts.

My photography can be seen as comments on places I have been and people I have known. Again, it is concerned with shape, colour and pattern and is all unmanipulated.

I have exhibited and sold widely and all pieces in the show are for sale. I have recently started undertaking commissions for subjects – if you would like to know more then please get in touch.
